Jack Hughes currently is the Co-Founder and Principal of Phoenix Financial & Advisory Services, LLC, a company that provides management consulting services to small and emerging companies in the Government and Commercial Technology, Media and Entertainment industries. 

 

Mr. Hughes has a proven record of progressive leadership and management experience in fast growth organizations.  Prior to Phoenix Financial & Advisory Services, he served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Alion Science and Technology Corporation.  Along with his daily responsibilities of Alion's financial and accounting functions, he contributed to the strategic vision for the future expansion of the corporation and directed the implementation of financial and accounting policy.  Mr. Hughes was also Senior Vice President and CFO of BTG, Inc., accountable for business and operations management, as well as creating winning proposal strategies and growth financing for a $600M business with 1650 employees.  Preceding BTG, Mr. Hughes was the senior vice president and corporate treasurer of ManTech International Corporation, growing the company to $200 Million in business with nearly 3,000 employees in 70 locations world-wide.  He played a key leadership role in the development of industry position on major issues resulting in new legislation, government policy and regulations on uncompensated overtime, profit policy, contract awards without discussions and best value contracting. 

 

Mr. Hughes received a B.S. in Economics and Business from Frostburg State University, and he has performed graduate coursework in contract formation, government procurement, and financial management. He also served on several corporate and non-profit boards.
