Shea, Elizabeth
SpeakerBox Communications, LLC

Elizabeth Shea is the CEO and co-founder for SpeakerBox Communications, LLC, a technology-centric public relations firm in the Washington, DC region. For more than twenty years, Shea has seen innovation at many stages. She joined Apple Computer early in her career and shared its passion for changing the world one person at a time. Fast forward and she's still driven to make a difference for technology pioneers and thought leaders, helping to shape the industry's next icons.

Shea spent the first half of her career in Silicon Valley, working for Apple Computer, SuperMac Technologies and Momenta Computer. She relocated to the east coast to work for several top-tier technology government integrators that sold Oracle, Apple, Silicon Graphics, Compaq and Sun Microsystems solutions. Shea co-founded SheaHedges Group with business partner Kristi Hedges in 1997, and rebranded the company ten years later to become SpeakerBox. SpeakerBox has received recognition for the past 7 years within the Washington Business Journal’s Top 25 Public Relations Firms in the DC region.

Most recently, Shea received recognition from the Washington Business Journal as a Woman Who Means Business in 2008. Women in Technology honored Shea with its 2005 Entrepreneurial Leadership Award. She also received the prestigious PR Woman of Year Award in 2001 from Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR).

Shea enjoys giving back to the local community, serving on the advisory council of George Mason University's Communications Department, helping to craft curriculum strategies for communications students. She held a board seat for four years with Women In Technology, and co-founded the two-year old Technology Marketing Alliance (www.technologymarketingalliance.com), an association dedicated to serving senior-level technology marketers in the Washington, DC region. She also spent a year on the board of the Greater Washington Initiative (GWI), helping to evangelize the opportunities in the Washington metropolitan area.

Shea is an in-demand speaker on technology marketing and PR, frequently addressing such groups as: Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), WWPR, Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), Women In Technology (WIT), BusinessWire and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

Shea is a graduate of Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business with a degree in marketing.
